Assisting customers in person, by phone and email correspondence in a courteous, professional and efficient manner with questions or complaints concerning bills new services, garbage services and redirecting to proper departments when necessary.
Providing support for Customer Service Specialist II, Customer Service Supervisor, Operations Dispatch, Field Services Supervisor and Field Services Representatives as well as other Texarkana Water Utilities Departments as needed.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED Work is performed under the direction of the Customer Service Supervisor and guidance of the Customer Service Specialist II.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities.
Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
Process payments in person, by mail, drive thru night deposit and drop box in alley.
Answer customer's inquiries related to billing, transferring service and general complaint or other questions.
Assist customers that are having difficulty paying with available resources that assist paying water bills and/or extensions or payment arrangements.
Process applications, reviewing information to prevent fraud or monetary loss to the utility.
Scan documentation obtained for new service or any other requests by customers that are mailed in.
Notate accounts of any correspondence in detail and must be understandable.
Standard work hours are normally 8am-5pm Monday thru Friday and can vary based on customer volume and needs of the utility.
Early shift is 7am-4pm and late shift is 8:
30am-5:
30pm.
Weekends or holidays maybe required at times depending on the needs of the utility.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Experience in general office work as a customer service clerk or cashier.
Basic computer knowledge Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to make decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Ability to answer phone calls and questions in a clear, well-modulated and pleasant voice tone, and to express oneself effectively.
Ability to maintain careful attention to details while assisting customers.
Ability to document details of customer interactions in a manner that will be complete and understood by others.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public and all other utility personnel.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Valid drivers' license from State of residence.
Standard high school diploma or GED equivalent TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED Computer, including Microsoft Office, GIS (Arc Map), SharePoint, ten-key calculator; phone; copy machine; fax machine, printers, billing software, Excel, Microsoft Word, mail and deposit Software, scanner, scanning software.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
