Ability to do the work of a(n) Hazardous Waste Disposer (Motor Vehicle Operator/Fork Lift Operator) without more than normal supervision cleaning, treating and disposing of hazardous material waste in accordance with regulations. I can properly receive, identify, and store hazardous waste. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. This position is a TERM position. It is time-limited and maybe extended up to a maximum of eight years. This position has potential for subsequent conversion to career or career-conditional appointment utilizing Modified Term Procedures under section 9902(b)(2). To be eligible for conversion:
employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Physical handling of HW/HM will be routine. May be required to lift or carry items that weigh up to 50 pounds, shifting/relocating heavier items using material handling equipment. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed inside and outside and exposes incumbent to weather extremes. There is exposure to noise, vibrations, and jolting from operated machinery. Incumbent is exposed to possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises. There is the possibility of exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes from spills and/or leaking containers and may be required to wear protective clothing (e.g., rubber boots, coveralls, goggles, aprons, gloves, respirator, etc.). Work is dirty, dusty, and greasy.
