Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of an Battery Repairer Leader without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common Battery Repairer Leader duties of ensuring that needed equipment is available and that needed assets are obtained from supply for battery repairs. I can perform duties related to testing, repairing, removal, replacement, and charging of all types of batteries; perform salvage procedures on used batteries; and troubleshoot malfunctions. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Ability To Lead or SuperviseAbility To Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentDexterity and SafetyKnowledge of MetalsTechnical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Use of Measuring Instruments Physical requirements include heavy physical (above 45 lbs.) effort is required in moving batteries and associated charging equipment, etc. Work requires continuous standing, stooping, turning, and coordination when moving arms, hands, legs, and feet in manipulating equipment controls, etc. Work is performed inside and outside subject to prevailing weather conditions. Subject to noise and dust, and possibility exists for acid and other burns, shock, etc. Frequently works on cement floors.
