Ability to do the work of an Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator without more than normal supervision, which include calibrate and repair Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) in the parameters of electrical, electronic, microwave, physical and dimensional standards and measurements applicable to the calibration, certification and evaluation, working under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who review work for completion. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Screen OutAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Theory and Instruments (Electrical Electronic) Used in Shop and Trade PracticesTrouble Shooting Physical Efforts:
The work may require long periods of standing or sitting along with some walking or bending during the course of extended periods on measurements. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds. Working conditions:
The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
